  • the Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange (CTLX) located at Carcoar NSW. 

  • the Central Victoria Livestock Exchange (CVLX) located at Ballarat VIC.

Job Description: 

We are seeking an agile and experienced leader with great coaching & mentoring skills to manage the performance, operations & superior team safety & animal welfare of our Livestock Exchange (CTLX) facilities. Building strong relationships with our customers & the community is also a key aspect of the role.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership, development and coaching to a team of staff to meet performance objectives and KPIs

  • Oversee, lead and manage business and facility operations to deliver a comprehensive range of services

  • Oversee and manage sale day activities ensuring the efficient throughput of livestock, monitor and measure sale day financial outcomes

  • Measure and monitor the efficient throughput of livestock, related to sale day and non-sale day activities

  • Oversee and manage site operational compliance requirements in relation to WH&S, relevant legislation, licencing and codes of practice, to meet and exceed organisational expectations

  • Measure and monitor operational and capital expenditure in accordance to approved budgets

  • Develop comprehensive business performance, compliance and financial reports

  • Promote the regional economic value of LX facilities through active community engagement

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the timely delivery of capital projects

  • This position may require regular travel to multiple sites as well as interstate travel when required.

To be successful in this position you will possess:

  • Recognised qualifications in business or agricultural related field or equivalent experience

  • Over five years of experience leading & developing high performing teams

  • Demonstrated ability to develop & maintain strategic relationships

  • Proven commercial acumen & drive to maximise value in business management with the ability to organise & manage conflicting work priorities

  • Solid grounding & appreciation of the concepts, principles & practical applications of business operations

  • Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft suite
