Remuneration: $25 - $30 / hour negotiable based on experience

Job Description: Our client required a Feedlot Animal Health Nurse to commence work at their Hay based beef cattle feedlot in the Western Riverina region of New South Wales. The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • To develop and administer animal drug treatment protocols

  • Coordinate with livestock staff the effective inspection of animals on a daily basis

  • Liaise with external consultants re diagnosis and treatment of animals where determination of illness is difficult to assess.

  • Maintain good hygiene standards of the animal hospital and facilities

  • Maintain stock records of treatments and effective pathways for animal recovery post treatments

  • Undertake drugs and stock orders in addition to monthly stock-takes.

  • Undertake and report on animal deaths; complete and report on animal autopsy’s where required or directed

The successful applicant will have previous livestock experience dealing with large animals, experience coordinating and implementing animal health treatments, a degree or diploma in animal nursing and a high degree of computer literacy. A knowledge of the beef cattle and especially feedlot industry will be highly regarded.
