About the opportunity

With the acquisition of the new property, located 12kms east of the seaside town of Jurien Bay, 2 hours North of Perth. The property comprises 5,100ha of prime cattle backgrounding country, with undulating clay/gravel loams. The property forms part of a broader beef business that includes the Harvey Beef processing facility, multiple pastoral properties and the new 20,000hd feeding facility, Koojan Downs.

As the Farm Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the cattle backgrounding property, which includes but not limited to:

Key responsibilities:

All aspects of cattle health, stock husbandry, handling, weighing, and drafting.

  • Broadacre fodder crop production and pasture management, including Pivot Irrigation, perennial pastures and some Cereal Hay/Silage production.

  • Direction and Supervision of staff and contractors.

  • Implementing operational and strategic plans.

  • Operate within budget requirements.

  • Maintenance of digital and hardcopy livestock records.

  • Compliance with relevant Work Health and Safety requirements.

  • Compliance with relevant QA systems.


About you

You will be an experienced Farm Manager and/or Head Stockperson, who is self-motivated and willing to lead staff by example through a strong work ethic and respect for others, whilst achieving company goals and objectives to a high standard.


Essential Criteria:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Honest, hardworking, well-organised, independent, and self-motivated

  • Commitment to animal welfare and low-stress stock handling techniques

  • Strong written and oral communication, and computer literacy

  • Current Drivers License
