Koojan Downs Feeding Facility: Our new Koojan Downs feeding facility north of Perth has created an integrated beef supply chain from the north to southwest of Western Australia and is based on best-practice ecological planning and animal welfare management. 

Our cattle are raised as nature intended, in one of the world’s cleanest environments. We believe this is the way beef should be and through our end-to-end supply chain we are able to uphold this quality – from breeding to farming, feeding and processing.

The Role: We are currently seeking a motivated Feedmill Manager to join our expanding business at Koojan Downs near Moora, WA. This role will help lead a team to plan, produce and distribute sustainable stock feed across the 3751 ha feeding facility. This is WA’s largest feeding facility and is designed to supply Harvest Road’s processing facility, Harvey Beef.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Formulation, allocation, and delivery of daily cattle feed rations including the milling of raw materials

  • Monitoring of machine performance and diagnosis of issues

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with commodity management and acquisition

  • Provide guidance and supervision of fellow team members in the feeding team

  • Maintenance of a clean and organised work environment

  • Being and active and dedicated team member

  • Providing training and inductions for staff

  • Maintain a safe working environment and reporting and any risks, hazards, or incidents

  • A willingness to be flexible in working hours, including weekend work.

About you: Reporting to the Facilities Manager this opportunity will suit a self-motivated person who is hands on and is passionate about the agriculture industry. You will have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and contribute to the team. 

Essential Criteria:

  • A commitment to and interest in animal welfare

  • Experience with the maintenance and repair of machinery

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office

  • C Class Driver’s licence

  • Constantly demonstrate commitment to safe work practices

  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a team

  • Motivated and willing to contribute to the Harvest Road team culture

Desirable skills:

  • Cattle feedlot and/or mill experience

  • Experience with Elynx and Genius software
