STAPLETON STATION | NT
Stapleton is a 60,000ha beef grazing property South West of Katherine in the NT.
Mustering is by use of airplane, helicopter, motorbikes and horses, with emphasis on maintaining quiet, stress free cattle both in the paddock and yard.
Stapleton is an extensive operation with emphasis on reducing mortalities, increasing reproduction rates and reducing age of sale cattle.
JOB TYPE: Full Time*
JOB DESCRIPTION: To be successful for this position you must have solid cattle experience as well as experience leading and teaching staff.
This position requires a Head Stockperson capable of organising the mustering, drafting and trucking program unsupervised.
This is a hands on role and you will be required to be involved with all daily duties involved with running a cattle station whilst reporting to the Station Manager.
NOTE: The position requires 3 years station experience, to be clean and tidy with initiative and willingness to take responsibility for the animal husbandry and general running of the property.
Must be enthusiastic and energetic.
Passionate in optimising production and maintaining the highest levels of animal welfare
Highly respectful towards equipment.
Engaged and eager to learn and develop their own skills, as well as pass skills on to those around them.
Capable of organising 2 or 3 additional staff members.
Well-presented and clean and tidy in accommodation and vehicles.
Accommodation donga rooms with a joining kitchen, lounge and dining room - position would suit a couple.
*Above award wage after 3 month probation period.
