Fortescue Helicopters are a leading provider of aerial mustering and helicopter charter services and are locally owned and operated from the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. We strive to assist our clients in increasing their profitability and sustainability by providing safe, efficient, and professional helicopter services tailored to their requirements. We have a fleet of 14 + aircraft operating throughout WA and interstate, and our main base is at Newman Airport Western Australia.

Location: Newman, Pilbara – WA based (or ability to be in WA immediately) applicants only due to current COVID restrictions

Position to cover requirements of two related entities located in WA’s Pilbara region:

  1. Fortescue Helicopters are a leading provider of aerial mustering and helicopter charter services and

  2. Fortescue Cattle Company are a cattle station located nearby.


Tasks will be varied to support Chief Pilot & Station Manager:

  • Public Relations with pilots, customers, suppliers and official bodies as required

  • Some compliance – pilots, aircraft, parts control

  • Organisation of hangar, aircraft, vehicles, pilot travel etc as required

  • Preparation of job specific reporting, industry required forms, emails and data entry as needed

Must have:

  • Drivers Licence

  • Strong attention to detail and computer skills (Microsoft suite of programs as well as willing to learn additional aviation specific programs)

  • Great organisational skills

  • Excellent personal presentation & the ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong relationship building & problem solving skills, ability to use initiative

  • Ability to prioritise tasks dependent on level of importance

  • Loyal, honest, hardworking & dedicated nature


Desirable skills (not pre-requisite):

  • Background in aviation or compliance management, or in agriculture especially Northern Australia working on large scale cattle operations viewed favourably

  • Formal agricultural or aviation management qualifications or desire to obtain

  • Pilot license advantageous (aeroplane or helicopter) this is not a flying role, but some flying could be included for the right applicant.

  • Truck license beneficial
