Fortescue Helicopters are a leading provider of aerial mustering and helicopter charter services and are locally owned and operated from the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. We strive to assist our clients in increasing their profitability and sustainability by providing safe, efficient, and professional helicopter services tailored to their requirements. We have a fleet of 14 + aircraft operating throughout WA and interstate, and our main base is at Newman Airport Western Australia.


The position we are advertising is for an experienced mustering pilot who is also interested in other aerial work as the role will involve both. The role can be tailored to either more mustering or more aerial work based on the applicant’s aptitude and preference for either. There is scope for career progression and personal development to be tailored to the applicant’s interest preferred career direction.


What you would be doing within the role:

  • Aerial Mustering

  • Aerial work and some Charter Operations

  • Reporting directly to the Chief Pilot


It is essential for the successful applicant to have:

  • Commercial Pilots License (H)

  • Class 1 CASA Medical

  • Mustering endorsement and experience as a commercial pilot in a commercial operation

  • R22 experience

  • Strong background of cattle handling experience prior to becoming a pilot

  • Professional attitude toward cattle handling

  • A genuine passion for the agricultural and aviation industries

  • Discipline and motivation to work autonomously and remotely as required and uphold standards and expectations set by the business.

  • Good understanding of Robinson aircraft limitations

  • Must possess knowledge of CASA rules and regs applicable to operation conducted.

  • Excellent personal presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively.

  • Strong relationship building and problem-solving skills, including written and verbal communication.

  • Must possess the desire to maintain good airmanship and a high level of stockmanship while maintaining a high level of communication and liaison with our customers, management and other team members.

  • An average understanding of computers, and willingness to adapt to new computer programs and apps.

  • Current Drivers Licence

  • Ability to complete Pre employment Medical and Police clearance check


It will be viewed favourably for you to have any of the following:

  • 2000+ hours total time

  • 1500+ hours mustering

  • R44, R66, B206L + AS350 endorsement advantage but not necessary. (May be provided for right candidate)

  • Ag endorsement

  • Sling endorsement

  • Fixed wing License

  • Formal agricultural qualifications

Remuneration:

  • Very competitive renumeration based on prior experience and qualification with reviews at 1, 6 and 12 months to ensure suitability for both parties.

  • Scope to include company paying for future personal development including but not limited to further flying qualifications.
