Job Description:

  • The Bore Runner at Headingly Station may perform a range of activities in relation to the maintenance of station bores, windmills and other watering facilities, working in conjunction with the bore mechanic. 

  • This is a physical job that includes working both Indoors and Outdoors in all types of climatic conditions.

  • You may also be exposed to the elements of wind, heat, dust, rain.


Headingly Station, near Urandangie, is located in the Barkly Group, 200km south west of Mount Isa and 35km from Urandangie. The property is a breeding station producing cattle for AACo’s Wagyu brands. Headingly Station is situated on the Georgina River and comprises mainly open black soil downs country with areas of timbered country (mainly Gidyea) scattered throughout. Headingly Station is made up of three leases – Headingly (1916), Wolgra (1965), and Carandotta (1985).

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform your job and take responsibility for your safe work behaviour.

  • Checking tank & turkey nest levels, maintain turkey nest fences, troughs, with solar pumps at each bore.

  • Keeping a written record of bore levels & approximate numbers of cattle at each trough.

  • Maintain bore runner motor vehicle and report any breakdowns.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (desired)

  • Car license required.

  • Mechanical knowledge and experience (desired)

  • Ability to coordinate a daily and weekly work schedule.

  • Capability to work both alone and as part of a team.
