Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Mechanic to join the team at Brunette Downs. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for managing and safely performing maintenance, servicing, repairs and overhauls on all vehicles, plant, and machinery.
Brunette Downs is situated in the middle of the Barkly Tableland and is located 350km north east of the nearest town, Tennant Creek and 660km northwest of Mount Isa in Queensland which serves as the station’s main service town. Brunette Downs is well known because of the ABC or Brunette Races, an outback racing carnival which is held annually in June.
PLEASE NOTE:
These positions can be physically demanding requiring individuals to work in a variety of weather and temperature environments. Due to this, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical questionnaire. AACo is committed to the health and wellbeing of our employees.
These roles all require the individual to comply with AACo’s safety standards, while also taking responsibility for your safe working practices on property.
Remuneration will match the level of skill and experience demonstrated and in accordance with the company’s Certified Agreement.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensuring equipment and plant on the station is regularly maintained and serviced.
Repairs and maintenance of bores and water pumps as required.
Staying on top of scheduled servicing for plant and other gear
Working with a fleet that's not just any fleet – it's all new and modern:Toyota Land Cruisers
1. Kenworth prime movers
2. Isuzu body trucks
3. CAT graders & loadersOrdering of parts and other gear needed to carry out necessary serving & repairs.
Job Requirements:
Appropriate trade qualification, mechanic or similar.
Current HR license.
3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Ability to work autonomously when needed.
