Job Description:

  • We are on the lookout for a dedicated Operations Manager to join our backgrounding property at Rewan. If you are someone looking to take the next step in your career, this is the role for you! As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the property is running at full optimal business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.

  • Rewan Station, a cattle backgrounding and finishing property in central Queensland. The 17,500 hectares of land is located near Rolleston, about 200 km south of Emerald.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Backgrounding Manager, your key duties will include:

  • Coordinate the daily activities and resources required across various departments.

  • Ensure that all quality assurance, OH&S, and environmental policies and procedures are being implemented.

  • Manage the implementation of training systems across the backgrounding property to ensure all staff have the correct training and development required.

  • Manage cost responsibilities within the budgetary limitations of the business.

  • Implement all essential steps to guarantee that every employee adheres to safety management protocols and pertinent legislation.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance crew, including managing costs and time frames for completion of tasks.

  • Manage projects carried out through the backgrounding property and report status of projects both in writing and verbally.

Job Requirements:

  • Current Drivers License (Heavy vehicle licence where applicable).

  • Previous experience in the operation and management of a production enterprise.

  • Knowledge of cropping and farm operation.

  • Machinery and basic maintenance knowledge.

  • Strong computer literacy skills.

  • Experience working on large projects.

  • Personal qualities of leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm.
