Job Description:

The ACE business is growing to export around 80,000 head of cattle and 5,000 buffalo per year to South-East Asia and background around 20,000 head of cattle per year and as a result seeking a person for Live Export - Operations.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will support the business in the following key areas:

  • Loading of livestock vessels across Australia and all associated logistics arrangements.

  • Livestock management and procurement:

o For live export shipments and for backgrounding.

o Ensuring all livestock purchased meet required specifications.

  •  Ensuring compliance with all export protocols and government regulations.

  •  Attendance of discharge operations in overseas ports where possible.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications in business management, veterinary science and export processes would be considered favourably but are not essential. Previous experience with livestock is mandatory.

  • This role will suit someone with experience in the livestock industry and who is motivated by the opportunity to work in a high pressure but rewarding role. The ability to think on your feet and a keen eye for detail will be critical in this fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships will be key to your success in this environment where you are working with cattle producers, livestock agents, logistics providers, overseas customers, shipping companies and the Australian government.
