Job Description:

  • Due to restructure, a unique and newly created opportunity now exists for an experienced Small Stock Operations Manager to join ACC’s Wellclose Property Group, located near Charleville.

  • This multi-enterprise business includes cattle breeding, backgrounding and a large-scale commercial goat herd and is an aggregation of several conjoined properties totaling a land mass of 560,000 acres. 

  • The Wellclose Property Group is currently implementing several major property development projects that further supports our diversification into small stock.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • As Operations Manager, leading a small team, you will play a critical role in the ongoing development and extension of our small stock goat enterprise in co-ordinating day-to-day operational activity within this business unit. 

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, (who is based at the Wellclose Homestead), you’ll enjoy collaboration and communication with the broader Wellclose team.

Job Requirements:

Along with being an innovative thinker and someone who will thrive with the challenge of developing our small stock goat enterprise, our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of best practice small stock management, handling and husbandry

  • Strong logistical management of small stock through the supply chain and ensure accurate recording and reporting with company systems.

  • Ability to support the implementation of numerous large scale property & infrastructure development projects

  • Broad knowledge of general station operations and maintenance

  • Understanding and commitment to highest standards of animal welfare and quality processes

  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills

  • Ability to train & mentor staff

  • Proactive safety management skills

  • Sound computer skills
