Job Description:
ACC’s Redford Station, just 3 hours west of Roma carries up to 12,000 head of breeding & backgrounding cattle situated on 119,600 acres.
This small, energetic crew enjoy working closely together and are well supported by an awesome head stockperson and experienced Property Manager.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Our station hands take on a range of duties including:
Cattle handling and processing using low stress animal handling techniques
Mustering on horseback and motorbike
Safe operation of vehicles, tools, machinery and equipment
General station and maintenance duties including fences, gates, yards & sheds
Monitor and maintain water supplies including bores, turkeys' nests and tanks
Assisting with livestock supplement distribution
Job Requirements:
Along with being a competent horse rider, you've ideally had previous exposure to handling and working with cattle. Successful candidates will have a positive, can-do approach and demonstrate:
A safety focussed attitude where you take care of yourself and your teammates
A commitment to the highest standards of animal welfare and animal handling
Reliable, honest and trustworthy
Sound mechanical skills and ability to safely operate a range of tools and equipment
Current and valid manual drivers licence
Good communication and interpersonal skills that fosters a supportive team environment
Having sound physical fitness and agility that enables you to safely undertake physical aspects of the job
