BOS Grazing is beef cattle operation specialising in backgrounding trade cattle, rotational grazing and finishing in a small feedlot. We’re a young, tight knit team with a love of innovation. Job Description:

  • We are seeking a Station and Feedlot Hand with an interest in Animal Health and Livestock as part of our growing team. 

  • Due to our small team size, the role is quite diverse. A day in the life here can range from Mustering, Pen Riding & Yard Work, to Feeding Cattle, Lick & Water Runs & General Maintenance.

  • We don’t expect you to be able to do everything (fantastic if you can) however we do expect you to give it your best shot, be committed to learning and develop into a team member we can’t live without.

  • It’s essential that you’re hardworking, have good manners, are calm under pressure, are neat, tidy & organised, and above all have a sense of humour and great attitude.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mustering & Stockmanship (Feedlot) using horses

  • Maintaining high animal welfare and health

  • Keep cattle records via apps and computer software

  • Operation and maintenance of farm machinery, trucks, tractors etc

  • General property maintenance and repairs – water, welding and fencing

Job Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must have proven stock sense

  • A keen interest in livestock cattle handling, psychology and health

  • Competent horse rider with reliable and safe horses

  • Current driver's license essential

  • Computer literacy

  • The following would be an advantage, but not essential;

  1. Good working dogs

  2. Regenerative & Rotational Grazing experience

  3. Low Stress Stock Handling Experience

  4. Truck License

  5. Chemical Handling (ChemCert)

  6. Antimicrobial Stewardship

  7. Previous feedlot experience

  • Must be honest, reliable and happy to take instruction.

  • Take responsibility for tasks that require you to work independently or within a team
