Job Description:

South Burnett is a remarkable property nestled in the picturesque South Burnett region of Queensland. Where it is a premier F1 Wagyu cattle breeding and mixed farming operation situated in the breathtaking foothills of the Bunya Mountains. We take pride in fostering a friendly, inclusive and respectful work environment, believing our team members are invaluable assets that play a pivotal role in the overall success of the property.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with our cattle, performing a variety of tasks including mustering, processing, and monitoring their health. With a dedication to animal welfare and quality assurance to contribute to their overall well-being, following our motto “Happy healthy cattle are the best cattle”

  • From ploughing and planting to harvesting hay, silage, and grain, you'll be involved in the day-to-day operations of crop and fodder production.

  • You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining tractors, front-end loaders, and other farm machinery, ensuring they're in good working order.

  • You will contribute to sustainable land management practices on our farm. From weed and pest control to erosion prevention and drought preparedness, you'll play a vital role in preserving our natural environment.

  • Showcase your practical skills by assisting with general maintenance and repairs around the farm. From fixing fences to maintaining water supply equipment, your handy skills will help keep our farm running smoothly.

Job Requirements:

  • You have a demonstrated passion for cattle, farming and an enthusiasm to learn more.

  • Proven competency and previous experience in similar roles is essential for this position

  • Safety is a top priority for you, and you understand the importance of following safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment.

  • You thrive in a collaborative setting and enjoy working alongside others. Your strong communication skills and willingness to contribute make you a valuable team member.

  • You take pride in your work and pay attention to the little things. Whether it's recording stock numbers or maintaining machinery, your precision ensures accuracy and quality.

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required to commute to our South Burnett farm.
