Job Description:
Looking for an exciting opportunity in the agricultural industry? We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our operations at Glencoe Station in NSW, approximately one hour north of Dubbo. This full-time position offers the chance to be part of an industry-leading Agribusiness.
Caigan and Glencoe Stations are breeding properties for Hancock Agriculture’s 2GR pure bred Wagyu cattle. Nestled in the Central West of NSW, our team at 2GR enjoys the best of nature's offerings, with access to the Castlereagh River at Caigan and breathtaking views of the Warrumbungles at Glencoe. Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager reports to the Farm Manager contributes to the overall property operations including cattle breeding and raising and associated practices leading to pasture management, cropping and fodder production programs.
Duties such as handling and monitoring of livestock, ploughing, planting, fertilizing, watering and harvesting of hay, silage and grain, machinery operation and maintenance, general property maintenance and repairs, and land management
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in the movement, handling, and processing of cattle using calm and controlled methods.
Competent operation of various farm machinery/equipment and carrying out basic servicing and maintenance
A strong work ethic and a firm commitment to safety protocols are vital. Our team values individuals who prioritise their safety and that of their colleagues while maintaining a high standard of work.
Good understanding of animal welfare practices
You should be able to communicate effectively with team members and maintain accurate records, ensuring efficient coordination and documentation of farm activities.
While the role requires the ability to work independently, you should also be an effective team player.
Hold a current Class C Drivers Licence (HR Truck and Tractor licence an advantage)
A genuine passion for the beef industry and an enthusiasm for working in a rural location are key attributes. Your dedication and love for the industry will inspire and drive your commitment in your role.
