Job Description:
We're looking for a capable and motivated Machinery Operator to join our operations at Helen Springs Station- Initial 8-month contract
Helen Springs Station, located in the Barkly Tablelands in the Northern Territory, spans an impressive 5,600km2 and serves as a breeding property for up 27,000 head of cattle. Lush green gardens and lawns surround the station complex, which includes a swimming pool and social club. In your down time you might like to visit the nearest town, Tennant Creek. Throughout the year, mustering operations and general station work intertwines with social events across the NT.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
The Machinery Operators role is responsible for maintaining a Cat 160M and Cat 140H, as well as a Hercules loader.
The Operator will maintain both trucking and bore roads, clearing fencelines, firebreaks and fire fighting in the fire season.
A high percentage of the grading is on blacksoil with slight parts of red soil to work with.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant earth works experience operating a Grader (ticketed preferred)
General station and machinery maintenance experience
Ability to observe general property needs, i.e. fencing, livestock health
Ability to work in remote conditions
Good understanding of animal welfare practices
Ability to work alone to a safe standard
Strong ability to problem solve
Strong ethic towards keeping machinery and camp in a tidy and orderly fashion
Ability to record information and communicate effectively in the workplace
A current Heavy Ridge (HR) licence
Hold a current Class C driver’s licence
A genuine passion for Agriculture.
