Job Description:

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work in the stunning Kimberley Region of Western Australia? Look no further! We have Full-Time positions available at Fossil Downs and Liveringa Stations for dedicated Bore Runners to join our team in maintaining the heart of our operations.


Fossil Downs

Located in the magnificent Kimberley Region, Fossil Downs Station sprawls across nearly 1 million acres of breathtaking landscapes. Our property is steeped in history and features a comfortable historic homestead complex nestled at the junction of the Margaret and Fitzroy Rivers. With an extensive breeding and export operation housing a herd of 25,000 prime drought master cattle, Fossil Downs is a hub of activity. Our mustering techniques focus on low stress stock handling and utilise helicopters, horses, and motorbikes. When you're not hard at work, you can explore the picturesque gorges, rivers, and waterfalls perfect for fishing and exploration. At Fossil Downs, we believe in the power of community and teamwork, where every team member plays a vital role in the station's success.


Liveringa

Liveringa Station is a picturesque property spanning over 267,000 hectares, located on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River in the West Kimberley Region. Our operation combines an extensive beef cattle breeding program with a highly successful irrigated farming operation. We proudly run 25,000 head of Brangus Cross cattle and utilise helicopters, horses, and motorbikes for mustering, employing low-stress stock handling techniques. Situated just two hours away from the vibrant tourist town of Broome, Liveringa provides easy access to the wonders of the Kimberley. Throughout the year, we actively participate in local horse and social events, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among our team members.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Bore Runner, you will report directly to the Station Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our watering points. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting bore runs to check the condition of station watering points.

  • Maintaining and inspecting water facilities and pipelines to ensure their proper functioning.

  • Providing detailed reports on the health, condition, and welfare of all animals.

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing solar pumps and submersible pumps using small generators.

  • Assisting with trough cleaning and fencing repairs.

  • Undertaking general vehicle and workshop maintenance.

Job Requirements:

  • You should have a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

  • Mechanical skills and the ability to handle various equipment are essential.
