Job Description:
Do you have previous Farm Hand experience within an intensive pasture operation?
If you are enthusiastic and love to work outdoors then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are looking for a full-time permanent Farm Hand to join our friendly team based at New Norcia Farm and Koojan Downs Farm.
Within this role you will facilitate our pasture operations involving various aspects of the day-to-day farm operation including machinery operation and regulatory record keeping.
The Backgrounding Properties:
New Norcia Farm is located next to the historic township of New Norcia. It is a 7975ha property which has a frontage to the Moore River and is located 132km north of Perth in Western Australia.
Koojan Downs Farm: is located 30kms from Moora, 160kms north of Perth in Western Australia and is a 10,000ha property.
**Please note that this is a permanent position so is not suitable for those on short term /working holiday visas**
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting with a variety of farming tasks, including planting, harvesting, and maintaining pastures.
Operating and basic maintenance of farming equipment and machinery e.g. tractors and associated planting and spraying equipment with care and efficiency.
Carrying out work programs as devised with the Business Unit Manager - Farming.
Chemical applications via boom, and hand spraying.
Participating in ongoing training through toolbox talks to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Carry out safe operation of farm machinery as part of seeding and feeding operations.
Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Proven experience as a farm hand or in an agricultural role.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and diligent work ethic.
Adaptability and the willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
Strong focus on safety and bio-security standards.
Initiative and problem-solving skills.
Be flexible in working hours, including weekend work.
Physically fit to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks.
Hold a current driver’s licence.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
Moderate computer skills.
Ability to carry out instruction.
