Job Description:

Our Koojan Downs feeding facility north of Perth is on 9,000 ha and is designed to supply 60,000, 100-day grain finished cattle each year to Harvest Road’s processing facility, Harvey Beef.


The Role:

We are currently seeking a Livestock Leading Hand to join our expanding business on a permanent full-time basis.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of this role is to lead and train employees in the day-to-day responsibilities for livestock, feeding, and management of infrastructure (troughs, pen fences) and pen riding for observation of animal health.

Job Requirements:

Reporting to the Livestock Supervisor this opportunity will suit a self-motivated person who is hands on and is passionate about the agriculture industry. You will have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and contribute to the team.


Our ideal candidate:

  • Will be a capable and experienced horse rider

  • Have experience with animal handling, specifically cattle

  • Willing to work on a roster basis

  • Able to use initiative and organize time efficiently

  • Hold a ‘C’ Class Driver’s licence and have own transport

  • Able to undertake manual handling tasks

  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a team

  • Motivated and hard-working, willing to contribute to the Harvest Road team culture.

  • Proficient with computers

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks.

  • Two suitable working horses (desirable)

  • Farm machinery experience (desirable)

  • Chemical handling certification (desirable)
