The Hughes Pastoral Group, of Hughes Pastoral and Georgina Pastoral, runs over 180,000 head of Wagyu as well as Organic Angus infused cattle on their properties covering over 3 million hectares in QLD & NT.

We are currently taking applications for the position of a Road Train Driver to join the Lake Nash team.
About Lake Nash:
Lake Nash is a large scale outback cattle station on the banks of the Georgina River in the NT. It is a beautiful location, only three hours to Mt Isa, access to local nurse clinic, variety of opportunities.
The station has approximately 30 staff, with ages varying from 18-60 years of age and a Social Club on the station where we all catch up for drinks and a BBQ every Saturday.
We also attend local shows, races, camp drafts and rodeos which you would be welcome to attend with us as part of our team!
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
In your role as Road Train Driver, you will be responsible for:
Creating and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
Comply with all requirements of work health and safety legislation.
Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions.
Load and truck cattle internal and external to the station.
Comply with best practice in animal welfare and quality assurance.
Report any potential threats to biosecurity pertaining to animal health.
Load cattle at an appropriate rate.
Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines.
Complete all paperwork as required.
Conduct general property observations while driving.
Check all fences and report any problems to relevant staff.
Check for and report any cattle in turkey nest enclosures.
Report dead cattle to the station manager or head stockperson daily.
Maintain the road train, including its air conditioning, in a safe, serviceable and
Develop a schedule for and monitor the need for truck services.
Carry out planned and unplanned repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
Report on planned and unplanned maintenance.
Wash and clean the exterior and interior of the road train.
Monitor and report fuel, oil and spare parts usage.
Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as assigned.
MC Licence (A clean driving record, this will be checked)
Experience working with livestock/ on a cattle station preferred
You must be reliable, honest and self motivated. As well as neat and tidy, organised and punctual.
Inclusive of accommodation and all meals
The station also has access to 4G Telstra reception.
Accommodation is available for families/ couples, with work also potentially available for partner dependent on skill set.
