Until Position Filled
We seek a resourceful and independent person to take on the Dog Fence Patrol Officer position for Rawlinna located on the western side of the Nullarbor, 4 hours’ drive east of Kalgoorlie in WA. The station is well developed, maintained and resourced and covers 2.5 million acres, running up to 65,000 Merino sheep at capacity in 230mm rainfall country.
- World's largest operating sheep station
- Vehicle and primary tools provided
- Position offers a high degree of autonomy
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
The Patrol Officer reports directly to the station manager and your primary focus will be responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep and repair of the Dog Fence that runs through the property. From time-to-time, you will be required to routinely set and check vermin traps, engage in pest management and monitor the various livestock watering points along your route on the Dog Fence.
The position is highly independent and suits a resourceful person, experienced at living and working in remote and isolated places. You will first and foremost need to be an experienced fencer, be skilled at using a 4WD off road and as the position requires you to be camped out during the week, confidence in the bush is a must.
A competitive package is available, in line with experience, with a vehicle and tools provided. A firearms license, or ability to gain one, will be an advantage.
