Established in 1888, Jumbuck are a fourth-generation pastoral business with large scale sheep and cattle stations throughout Australia.
Commonwealth Hill Station runs around 35,000 Merino sheep over an area of 1,500,000 acres with a full-time permanent staff of 7. The property sits about 110km west of the Stuart Highway, with the turnoff mid-way between Glendambo and Coober Pedy in the NW pastoral region of South Australia. Commonwealth Hill is well resourced, maintained and managed across both infrastructure, equipment and livestock.
Pay in line with experience
We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time station hand to the team who is looking to build a long-term career. Experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes is expected (or ability to learn) along with being comfortable living and working in Australia’s remote outback.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Mustering of sheep on 2-wheel motorbikes
Water runs – checking various dams, bores and water points
Yard work and fencing
Various mechanical work including engine and small motor maintenance and servicing
Experience with sheep or livestock is not essential as we are happy to invest the time to develop the right person in these areas.
A competitive day rate is on offer, in line with experience. Single person accommodation (aircon), meals and internet are provided along with 6 weeks annual leave and ongoing staff bonus.
The station is easily accessed by vehicle or alternatively by a daily Greyhound Bus Service along the nearby Stuart Highway.
