We are a fourth generation business, in operation for over 130 years across Australia and with cattle and sheep properties across the country.

Located in the Coober Pedy / Glendambo region, around 120km west of the Stuart Highway. Mulgathing covers 530,000 hectares and runs up to 30,000 Merino sheep. We have a full-time permanent staff of 7. Well resourced, maintained and managed across both infrastructure, equipment and livestock. Easily accessed by vehicle or alternatively by a daily Greyhound Bus Service along the nearby Stuart Highway. It is in close vicinity to three other Jumbuck stations, allowing for support and a busy social scene.

Job Description:

Do you have experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes (or the ability to learn), are you comfortable living and working in Australia’s remote outback? Then Jumbuck might be for you!


We are looking to appoint two permanent, full-time station hands to the team. Those who are looking for a long-term career opportunity with room to develop, we are keen to hear from.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Some of what you will be involved in:

  • Mustering and droving of sheep on 2-wheel motorbikes including yard work

  • Water runs – checking various dams, bores and water points including cleaning and maintenance / repair work where necessary

  • Various mechanical work including engine and small motor maintenance and servicing along with various property fencing and repair work.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with sheep or livestock is not essential as we are happy to invest the time to develop the right person in these areas.

  • As a physical job, you will need to offer sound health and fitness, and be prepared to live in a remote area.
