Job Description:

  • The Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for the full-time position of Yardsperson, based at our cotton gin in Katherine, NT.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for general yard duties including:

  • Loading and unloading trucks and general loader and forklift operation

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting of seed temperature

  • Assist with tarping trucks

  • Assist with module yard checks

  • Assisting in maintaining machinery, equipment, buildings and surroundings

  • Assisting with improvements and upgrades

  • Assist with maintenance of the Gin plant

  • Assist with operation of the gin plant

  • Ensure completion of all machinery pre- start check lists

  • Responsible for keeping the yard mowed/slashed and in a clean and tidy state at all times

Job Requirements:

Essential requirements

  • Loader and forklift experience and tickets

  • Ability to commit to residing in the Northern Territory

  • Willingness and ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug + Alcohol testing

Desired skills but not essential

  • Maintenace / mechanical experience

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently takes initiative and challenges when required

  • Good work ethic and team player

  • Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers and third parties

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
