The Lucas Group is proud to present an exceptional opportunity for a passionate Veterinary Manager looking to significantly impact Australia's thriving agriculture industry.
The Veterinary Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of livestock in this rapidly expanding operation. You'll be at the forefront of managing all operations related to the feedlot hospital and medical team. This role offers:
Opportunity to build and mentor a strong, cohesive veterinary team
Utilisation and development of specialised large animal skills
A steady and predictable workload within a 12/2 roster system
Autonomy to implement best practices in animal health management
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee animal health and team performance
Develop and implement robust animal health management and reporting structures
Manage inventory, medications, and conduct regular stocktakes
Train and lead pen riding crew and hospital staff
Ensure compliance with WHS protocols
Oversee daily livestock handling, including pen riding and hospital treatments
Conduct comprehensive diagnoses and autopsies as required
Job Requirements:
We're looking for a passionate individual with:
Strong background in feedlot operations (veterinary qualifications preferred but not essential)
Excellent leadership and staff training abilities
Outstanding communication skills, both internally and externally
A 'people person' approach with the ability to adapt to various team personalities
Dedication to animal welfare and operational efficiency
Experience or interest in technological management systems
