Job Description:
Looking forward to your next adventure in the Northern Territory? Love fishing and island life? Milikapiti Sports and Social Club is seeking new managers to run the sports club and 9 room motel in the beautiful coastal community of Milikapiti on Melville island.
This management role is very hands-on with both managers required to oversee all areas of the club and accommodation. The club is open 4 nights a week from 4:30pm to 7:30pm – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. We have a bistro which serves takeaway meals from inside and outside of the club during club hours.
You will have great support from the 14 staff members who work across the bar, gate, bistro and takeaway areas, all are long term and happy to step in when needed. Relief Management in place for your annual leave coverage.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Opening and closing of club – 4 nights a week
Picking up and dropping off staff
Cleaning and maintaining club grounds and amenities
Stocking fridges and Stock control
Adhering to licensing and legislative requirements
Ordering of weekly stock in advance for barge cut off and delivery
Unloading weekly barge of supplies for club including bistro and bar supplies and any general stock
General grounds maintenance
Bookkeeping skills – counting tills, banking, bank reconciliations, preparing floats, debtors, creditors, be able to use basic Excel and Word, meeting minutes and document control required for audits.
Handling accommodation bookings in a timely manner, and guest requests.
Cleaning and maintenance of Motel, lawns and gardens – motel is a self-check in style with cleaning staff in place. An eye for detail and be able to fix general maintenance issues
Setting up for meetings, seminars (chairs, projectors etc) and organizing catering with our kitchen staff
Supporting our AFL Football teams for games at home or away and organizing presentations and end of season celebrations
Job Requirements:
Experience in a small hotel or club, or management in the hospitality industry
Good leadership and management of staff including rosters, training and support
Good customer service skills, community focused and supportive
Financial management skills including reporting, bookkeeping (one manager must have) payroll, preferable MYOB – however other accounting package experience would suffice and can be a transferred skill.
Housekeeping skills – linen is done on site
SWIFTPOS knowledge or ability to gain quickly. Very easy to use with phone support if required.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Security and Crowd Control Licence (NT Registered) – we can help you obtain this, you will need full police clearance
RSA
Senior First Aid
Food Licence and or Food Supervisors Certificate
Forklift Licence for unloading of stock
Must be able to obtain a full police clearance to obtain Liquour licence nominee
