Job Description:

We are currently hiring a Livestock Worker-Pen Rider at Grassdale, which employs 110 team members and is licensed for 70,000 SCUs, making it the largest feedlot in Australia.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

What you do in a day will depend on your skills and experience.  We have a variety of roles from entry level Livestock Workers, through to Senior Livestock Workers and Leading Hands.  In the Livestock Health team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of work, whilst focussing on the following key responsibilities.

  • Pen riding

  • Data entry and accurate record keeping using specialist feedlot systems (StockAid)

  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms and administration of animal health treatments on site

  • Ensure that cattle health, wellbeing, and performance are thoroughly monitored each day in an efficient manner and in accordance with company protocols and procedures

  • Ensure cattle are handled using low stress livestock handling principles

  • Ensure all livestock operations are performed safely and in accordance with company workplace health and safety requirements, policy, procedure, compliance, and regulatory requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Previous cattle handling and horsemanship experience and will need to supply at least two horses (up to three) to be considered for the position

  • Good stock sense and cattle handling skills

  • A keen attitude and willingness to learn

  • A strong work ethic and great communication skills

Job Benefits:

  • Ordinary hourly rate ranging from $25.3097 (Entry) through to $35.3147 (Specialised)
