Job Description:
Due to a recent expansion Nowendoc Run is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Manager.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Assets
Care of company assets which includes, but is not limited to: land, pastures, infrastructure, plant and machinery belonging to the business.
Livestock:
Management of livestock ensuring the highest welfare standards are upheld at all times.
Livestock are handled using Low Stress Stock Handling techniques.
Ensure that adequate feed and water are available at all times.
Planning of all operations
Pastures:
Utlilise rotational grazing to improve pasture base.
Monitor pastures on a regular basis
Identify poor paddock performance and identify and implement strategies to improve.
Planting Pastures
Boom spraying with GPS guidance
Centre pivot operation
Relationships:
Maintaining and developing beneficial relationships with key suppliers, partners and customers.
Build new relationships with potential key suppliers, partners and customers.
Strategic direction:
Identify and implement areas where improvement can be made within the business in consultation with the Manager.
Communication:
Regular communication regarding business matters with the Manager.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining the following records at the property:
Keeping daily diary.
Livestock movements
Agriwebb and Stockbook livestock recording
Inventory and servicing of plant and equipment.
WH&S records
Staff and Contractors:
Provide leadership and training of staff.
Regular communication (via telephone, text or email) with staff under your supervision.
Develop & implement weekly, monthly & yearly work plans for staff.
Ensure the priority tasks are completed in the timeframe required.
Job Requirements:
Skills and knowledge:
Extensive knowledge and understanding of pasture and livestock management.
Personal attributes:
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to think strategically and adapt as circumstances change.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work within a team as well as an individual depending on the task at hand.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Be honest, discrete, and reliable.
High level of self-motivation and drive.
Well organized.
Well presented at all times.
