Job Description:

Due to a recent expansion Nowendoc Run is seeking applications for the position of Station Hand.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Assets

  • Care of company assets which includes, but is not limited to: land, pastures, infrastructure, plant and machinery belonging to the business.

Livestock:

  • Management of livestock ensuring the highest welfare standards are upheld at all times.

  • Livestock are handled using Low Stress Stock Handling techniques.

  • Ensure that adequate feed and water are available at all times.

Pastures:

  • Utlilise rotational grazing to improve pasture base.

  • Monitor pastures on a regular basis

  • Planting Pastures

  • Boom spraying with GPS guidance

  • Centre pivot operation

Communication:

  • Regular communication regarding business matters with the Manager.

Record Keeping:

  • Keeping daily diary.

  • Livestock movements

  • Agriwebb and Stockbook livestock recording

Job Requirements:

Skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of pasture and livestock management.


Personal attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • The ability to think strategically and adapt as circumstances change.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work within a team as well as an individual depending on the task at hand.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Be honest, discrete, and reliable.

  • High level of self-motivation and drive.

  • Well organized.

  • Well presented at all times.
