Pardoo Wagyu is an innovative vertically integrated ‘genetics to plate’ wagyu company currently consisting of three Kimberley Breeding Properties, the Pilbara based Pardoo Station Backgrounding and Breeding Property with 20 Pivots providing perpetual nutrition, and feeder pens for up to 10000 weaners. Pardoo Wagyu produces multi award winning box beef currently distributed to over 15 international markets. The Wagyu Breeder herd should exceed 10,000 hd during 2025 with further expansion envisaged.

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to be hands on and the conduit between management and station hand crew as the Head Stockperson, this is a full time permanent position with an immediate start ensuring that the daily operations of the stock camp run smoothly.

  • Pardoo Station is situated in the heart of Western Australia’s spectacular Pilbara region - located approximately 160 kilometres northeast of Port Hedland.

  • With 200,000 hectares of prime grazing country, significant water resources and 150 years of pastoral heritage, Pardoo Station forms the centre of Pardoo Beef Corporation’s irrigated cattle operations.

  • Team members are valued and play an integral role in the successful smooth running of the station.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be reporting to the Station Manager - your key duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the stock camp.

  • Develop and implement efficient work programs.

  • Teach and uphold good horsemanship principles.

  • Guide station stock camp in key station operational tasks.

  • Responsible for accurate record keeping for livestock.

  • Promote and manage best practice in animal welfare and quality assurance.

Job Requirements:

Experience & qualifications

  • 1-2 years in leadership role is desirable.

  • 3-4 years in a stock camp

  • Demonstrate proficient cattle, horse, and motorbike skills.

  • Experience at organisational and people management.

Essential Criteria

  • Motor vehicle licence (Class C).

  • Chemical user’s accreditation.

Desirable criteria

  • HR Licence / Motorbike (R) Licence.
