Job Description:
We are actively recruiting for a Head Stockman to work closely with Station Manager in planning, implementing and evaluating the livestock program and related station operations.
Kamilaroi Station is located 180km north of Cloncurry in North Queensland comprising over 650,000 acres – primarily operating as a Wagyu breeding operation.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Head Stockman to an 8 man stockcamp.
Create and promote a positive health and safety culture
Provide leadership, supervision, training, direction and expert advice to the stockcamp across all livestock program activities and related station operations
Promote and manage best practice in animal welfare and quality assurance
Identify and report potential biosecurity issues pertaining to animal health
Organise and implement mustering programs
Carry out operational activities to company standards, including but not limited to low stress stockhandling
Train, coach and supervise stockcamps in horse operations
Implement annual maintenance and capital improvement programs
Job Requirements:
Have previous leadership experience in a stockcamp environment
Hold current drivers licence (HR preferred)
Demonstratable cattle, horse and motorbike skills
A passionate attitude
Have previous experience managing budgets and communicating across various levels of organisations
