Job Description:

We are on the hunt for team members to join our Livestock Team as a pen rider at our 20,000 head feeding facility in Jondaryan, QLD.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

This opportunity will see you working within a team of 13 to assist with the livestock operations of Kerwee Feedlot, including:

  • general cattle handling

  • drafting

  • cutting out

  • pen riding and moving cattle within the feedlot

  • cattle inductions

  • diagnosing animal health with a strong emphasis on animal welfare

  • administration of the animal health treatments

  • maintaining accurate daily records, including data entry.

Job Requirements:

  • You will need to have access to your own horse. 

  • We will offer access to stables, paddocks, farrier services, horse feed and vaccinations.
    You’ll need good communication skills as you’ll be developing relationships within your team and across the organisation. 

  • You should have effective time management skills as you’ll working within a dynamic environment.

  • You should be a self-starter, able to recognise when a job needs doing and get it done.

  • Experience within a similar work environment would be highly regarded as well as, knowledge of and ability to work within workplace health and safety and environmental systems.
