Job Description:
We are looking for a Feed Mill Operator / Feedperson to join our Mill / Feeding team at our Condamine Feedlot.
When you join us, you will also be part of an important regional community. Our Condamine Feedlot is a modern 28,000 head facility located in the Western Darling Downs of Queensland, three hours from Toowoomba. Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Feed Mill Operator, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Feedlot and maintain a high standard and timely delivery of commodities and feeding rations to cattle.
Part of the job will also include:
Operation of modern feeding machinery and farm equipment
Plant maintenance and hygiene
Operation of a modern steam flaking plant (Miller role) and feedlot feeding systems,
Maintaining accurate daily records.
Job Requirements:
You will be a multi-skilled individual who has a genuine willingness to learn and interest in mechanical equipment and has good attention to detail while enjoying a variety of tasks and challenges.
It is essential that you have the following:
Ability to carry out manual maintenance tasks and operate machinery
Problem-solving and computer skills
Ability to follow safe work practices
Commitment to working in a quality control environment
Enjoy working in a team, as well as on your own
Commitment to ensuring animal welfare and husbandry standards are upheld
Willingness to undertake required training and licensing, such as Boiler Operations, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, and Lock Out Tag Out
Ability to work a roster system.
