Job Description:

With the progression of a team member, our Millicent farm has an opening for a Senior Farm Hand with strong mechanical knowledge to join a growing farming portfolio, just 25km north east of Millicent. 


You will have proven knowledge of livestock and the ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. You will be working in a picturesque area of the lower south east of South Australia (commonly referred as the Limestone Coast). 


The farm has stunning vistas and is only a short distance from numerous coastal towns.


About the property:

  • 4000 Ha with 500 Ha of centre pivot irrigation

  • Running approximately 2500 Angus steers, 10,000 self-replacing Composite ewes plus young stock

  • High stocking rate, rotational grazing high input high output farm system

  • Own hay and silage production

  • Focusing on modern farming techniques short joining periods, early weaning systems

  • State of the art sheep and cattle handling facilities

  • Modern farming equipment

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures farm machinery and equipment is serviced and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements.

  • Operates farm machinery and equipment, including but not limited to tractors, lawn mowers, generators, tools and equipment.

  • Mechanical maintenance of pivot and pivot engines.

  • Assisting with livestock husbandry and moves using motorbike or vehicle.

  • Maintain farm infrastructure (including buildings, sheds, fences, gates, water tanks).

Job Requirements:

  • Current drivers licence - desirable MR or willingness to obtain
