Job Description:

  • We are seeking an Operations Manager for our mixed farming operation in central west NSW. Running 7000 merino flock with opportunity feedlot lambs and cropping.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operations monitoring livestock.

  • Mustering (using bikes and quads) and handling sheep for routine management practices.

  • Ensure animal welfare standards are maintained.

  • Proactively monitor pasture conditions and seasonal trends and make recommendations to the farm manager on seasonal requirements

  • Manage farming operations such as planting, spraying, harvest and pasture management.

  • Keep production records to support production systems, including livestock, fodder and chemical inventories.

  • Maintain farm machinery and equipment that is fit for use, including carrying out general repairs and maintenance of vehicles, plant, equipment and infrastructure.

  • Liaise with and organise suppliers, contractors and customers.

  • Communicate effectively with the farm manager and team members.

  • Strong work ethic and firm commitment to safety protocols.

Job Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must have proven livestock experience specific to sheep and wool production

  • Current driver's license essential (including heavy rigid truck),

  • Computer literacy,

  • Chemical handling, wool classing, forklift,

  • Must be honest, reliable and conscientious with attention to detail,

  • Take responsibility for tasks that require you to work independently or within a team.
