Job Description:

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Livestock Overseer who is reliable, experienced, self-motivated and passionate about the cattle industry.

  • Duties will be largely stock-focused so experience in holistic grazing management systems, feed budgeting, low-stress stock handling skills and good working dogs would be an advantage. 

  • A sound mechanical knowledge will be required also for general vehicle maintenance as well as farming machinery.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Stock movement/handling/husbandry including mustering, yard work, vaccinating, calving, weaning etc (good working dogs an advantage)

  • Management of animal nutrition (ie loose licks, supplements, management of calving heifers)

  • Stockyard and fence maintenance/erection

  • Farm yard/Sheds/paddock hygiene procedures (fallen limbs, wire, string, scrap)

  • Pasture grazing and rotation management (including management of grazing records, feed budgeting)

  • Quad bike/Side-by-side operation/servicing/maintenance

  • Management of stock records using Maia Grazing or similar


  • Lateral & pivot operations/maintenance

  • Plant/Engine maintenance and servicing

  • Irrigation infrastructure operation/maintenance

  • Tractor/Machinery (PTO, TPL & Trailed) operation


  • Weed/Pest control

  • Small plant/engine maintenance and servicing

  • Chemical/Dangerous Goods safe handling/application

  • Chainsaw operation/maintenance

  • Steel fabrication and general building repairs

  • Communicate effectively on all matters with Management, Staff and Contractors

  • Use of ‘To-Do’ app to add jobs accordingly and record when jobs have been completed

  • Willingness to use technology and a ‘Can-Do’ attitude

Job Requirements:

  • Chem Cert Certificate

  • MAIA Grazing experience

  • Agworld (or similar) experience

  • Low Stress Stock Handling Training (desirable, not essential)
