Job Description:

  • We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager for the historic Beltana Station. 

  • Beltana covers a picturesque 1574 square km, running mainly Angus cattle, a small number of Dorper sheep and harvests rangeland goats. The station no longer caters for tourists.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful applicant would be working closely with the General Manager (Tom Austin), but also required to be able to work autonomously.


Duties & Responsibilities would include:

  • Maintaining and monitoring waters continuously with help from the care taker.  

  • Helping with mustering rounds on all places- this would be dependent on applicants skillset. (Motorbike/ licenced pilot)

  • Infrastructure improvements (tanks troughs and solar installations) 

  • Fencing maintenance (floodgates and repairs) 

  • The majority of new work is carried out by contractors. 


This position is ideally suited to a family or couple with work available for partner on the station . 

Job Requirements:

  • Honest, reliable and be able to engage respectfully with staff, contractors and community.

  • Focused on excellent stock husbandry

  • Have knowledge of bores, pipelines, basic mechanics and welding

  • Willingness to work stock on our other stations as required

  • Ideally experience in a similar role

  • Experienced and skilled on a motorbike is essential.

  • Ideally hold a pilots licence PPL 

  • HR or MC licenced. 

  • Grader, loader, dozer and skid steer accreditation or skilled in operating this machinery.
