Job Description

We are currently seeking to fill the Feedyard Assistant on Maryfield Station NT.

If you have experience handling cattle, driving machinery and wanting to experience your first job on a Station this maybe the role for you! 

You will be working with the Feedyard Supervisor responsible for the day to day running of the feedyard, you will be feeding out, loading and unloading trucks, penning cattle into lines and helping with the health and welfare of the cattle.

Maryfield is in a prime location just off the Stuart Highway with all weather, year round access, only a short drive from Daly Waters and 200KM south of Katherine NT. Maryfield has 147,300 hectares and approximately 16,600 head of cattle. The station is located close to some of the best fishing, swimming, and sight-seeing spots in NT. The station has a feedlot and spelling facility, man-made beach and a beautifully landscaped homestead complex.

AAM Investment Group is an Australian owned and operated business and manages a range of agricultural assets across Australia. Assets include livestock exchange facilities, beef pastoral operations, mixed livestock and cropping operations, poultry farm operations and timber production facilities.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • This role will be directed by the Feedyard Supervisor on daily activities. 
  • The Feedyard Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the day to day feeding health and welfare of cattle.

  • Operating a tractor and/ or loader when feeding out to livestock

  • Loading and unloading cattle, penning up into lines and working in with Station hand crew when needed.

Job Requirements

  • Experience operating a loader and tractor preferred

  • Able to use low stress stock handling skills

  • Current drivers licence.
