We’re expanding our team and looking for an Experienced Livestock Hand to join our growing, family-run feedlot operation in the South Burnett.

This is a long-term role for someone who values livestock, teamwork, and doing the job right — with a strong lifestyle and community base to match.

This role requires local accommodation as we do not offer onsite accommodation for staff or their families.

Currently operating a ~6000 head cattle feedlot supported by 1800 acres of backgrounding and cropping country, we are a 3rd generation feedlot family focused on the growth of our business and the people within it.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day livestock handling and cattle husbandry

  • Processing, drafting, weighing and inductions

  • Hospital and animal health monitoring

  • Low-stress stock handling and animal welfare best practice

  • Receival and dispatch of cattle

  • Paddock work and mustering as required

  • Maintaining livestock equipment and facilities

  • Working closely with management, vets, and nutrition professionals

  • Contributing to a clean, safe, and organised livestock department

Job Requirements

  • Genuine passion for livestock production and animal care

  • Practical cattle handling experience (feedlot experience preferred but not essential)

  • Strong communication skills and respectful teamwork

  • High attention to detail and animal welfare

  • Organised, reliable, and committed to consistent standards

  • Confidence around horses and horsemanship skills highly regarded

  • A desire to build a long-term career in the South Burnett region
