PURPOSE OF POSITION Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Project Officer (Pest and Weeds) develops and implements projects under the pest and weeds program within the broad framework of the Southern Gulf NRM Plan. The initial focus of this position will be on feral pig coordination and weed management projects. The position will initiate and support the delivery of effective invasive species management outcomes, bolstering local invasive biosecurity effort. Activities include the establishment and implementation of invasive species management plans, pest surveillance and monitoring, implementation of post-flood disaster recovery and other grazing projects where it impacts pest and weed incursions.
