The Opportunity: Harvest Road has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Machinery Operator to join our tight-knit, hard-working team at Jubilee Downs Station, with an anticipated start date of March 2022.  Reporting to the Station Manager, this role plays a key part in facilitating machinery activities across the station and general station duties whilst having the opportunity to help with livestock activities.

Jubilee Downs Station stretches across 220,000 hectares in the West Kimberley, an hour south of Fitzroy Crossing. Half the property is black soil river frontage, and the other half is red pindan. The Jubilee homestead is right on the Cunningham River and bordering the Fitzroy River and the property also has two out stations. Jubilee is running 11,500 head of beautiful high quality Droughtmaster cattle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Day to day operation of modern equipment associated with the annual pasture program.

• Daily tasks include but not limited to: Grading fence lines, Fire Breaks, Pre-Season paddock cleaning & other general duties in well maintained equipment.

• Servicing vehicles, mechanical repairs and maintenance of machines as set out by management.

• Always demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and animal welfare

• Work closely with the management team to ensure all requirements are met, keeping the big picture in mind

Essential Criteria:

• Candidates with demonstrated mechanical aptitude will be highly regarded.

• Previous experience with using a grader and loader

• Strong focus on safety and animal welfare

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Strong attention to detail

• Good mechanical knowledge

• Initiative and problem-solving skills

• Motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the small team.

• Current driver’s license: truck license highly regarded

• Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment

• Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks

• Previous station experience, some knowledge with water points and livestock.

Desired:

• HC or MC license

​
