Koojan Downs, SW of Moora is going to be Western Australia’s largest cattle feeding facility, purpose built to supply Harvest Road’s processing facility, Harvey Beef. 


About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to oversee all maintenance of plant, equipment, and infrastructure. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of the management team in a brand-new business, involved in meeting daily operational targets, developing a unique culture (quality, safety, animal welfare, standards) and managing a vital part of the business. 

We are looking for someone who is progressive, has a positive attitude, sets high standards, can work in a team environment, likes some autonomy, understands preventative maintenance and is looking for a new challenge. 


Key Responsibilities of the role are (but not limited to):

  • Take responsibility for all repairs and maintenance of the infrastructure and mobile plant

  • New workshop setup

  • Developing maintenance schedules and record keeping procedures 

  • Be prepared to undertake equipment servicing and maintenance 

  • Be prepared to lead, train, and develop staff to undertake daily equipment servicing and maintenance 

  • Operate machinery as required, including front end loaders, body trucks, tractors, skid steer, vehicles 

  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and animal welfare

  • Be proactive in identifying hazards, assessing risk and reporting incidents

  • Provide recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency


Essential Criteria:

  • Trade qualification in a relevant field 

  • Minimum 3 years’ trade experience in chosen field  

  • Experience in managing and teaching staff 

  • Knowledge on current plant maintenance practices 

  • Ability to effectively problem solve any issues that may arise from various equipment

  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and opportunities as they arise 

  • Physically fit to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks

  • Ability to adapt and deal with change

  • Good attitude, honest, reliable 

Desired criteria:

  • Knowledge of cattle production and farming an advantage 

  • Experience in intensive production system 

  • Understanding of water reticulation, welding, fabrication

  • Basic computer operation and understanding
