An opportunity exists for an honest, energetic couple looking for the chance to manage a well improved 80,000 acre breeding property located approx 85km south west of Longreach.

The role entails contributing to strategic planning and implementing procedures and systems that promote business performance. Reporting directly to owner.


  • Honest and reliable with a 'can do' attitude

  • Experience in station leadership roles

  • Possess very good planning and problem solving skills, with attention to details

  • Vehicle Licence Cat C & HR

  • Firearms Licence Cat A & B

  • Excellent knowledge of cattle husbandry, herd management, quiet confident animal handling and treatment

  • Very competent on a Quad and two wheel bikes


  • Workforce planning

  • Comply with quality assurance, animal welfare and EU regulations

  • Accurate capture and recording of livestock data

  • Effectively manage Biosecurity

  • Feed budgets/planning for pasture optimisation

  • Plan, manage and implement annual maintenance and improvement programs

  • Liaise with local business representatives


  • Day to day running of property

  • Maintenance of station infrastructure

  • Maintenance of station plant

  • Maintenance of solar and poly watering systems

  • Grading fire breaks

  • Weaner education and handling - minimising stress

  • Maintaining  herd health and condition

  • Maintaining accurate stock records

  • Monitor and match stocking to pasture quality and quantity

  • Operate MIG and oxy welder as and when required

  • Employ safe work practices

  • Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as assigned.
