NEWRY STATION is a 246,700ha breeding property with capacity for 20,500 head cattle located in the Victoria River region, NT. Newry requires a Head Stockperson & Cook to join our team in 2022.  We are looking for employees with a proactive, positive and can-do attitude to join our team.  


HEAD STOCKPERSON, NEWRY, NT: Safety is our most important value at CAIT - The welfare of CAITs people, customers, animals and land is paramount. The Head Stockperson at Newry assists the Station Manager in planning, implementing and evaluating the livestock program and related station operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership, training and direction to the station hands

  • Promote and manage best practice in animal welfare and quality assurance

  • Assist the Station Manager with budgeting and livestock transactions

  • Have excellent horse, bike and cattle handling skills/ experience (Truck licence MR preferred)

  • Have proven livestock assessment and husbandry experience

  • Organise and implement mustering programs

  • Good time management and communication

STATION COOK | NEWRY, NT: We are looking for a Station Cook with a proactive, positive and can-do attitude to join our team.

  • The role available involves all aspects of cooking for up to approx 10 staff and guests to the station.

  • We require a dependable person who enjoys working as part of a hardworking team.

  • Applicants must have a strong work ethic, be clean, tidy and self-motivated and have good time management, communication & organisational skills.

  • This position would suit a flexible person who is happy to work individually with high hygiene standards and who wants to experience life on a working cattle station.

  • Some cooking experience would be an advantage. 

AUVERGNE STATION is located about 50km west of Timber Creek and 137km east of Kununurra in the Northern Territory but close to the border of WA. We attend several camp drafts and social events throughout the year, fantastic fishing, weekends off (option to work with camp on weekends) we can be flexible around study commitments. 


The family are looking for someone who has a genuine love of children and animals, who loves outdoor outdoor activities and can create a safe, nurturing, stimulating and fun environment for the girls. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 2 little girls, one in Kindy and one through Katherine School of the Air

  • Supervise, support on air lessons and complete follow-on activities,

  • Maintain school room. 

  • Some duties around homestead such as caring for animals.

  • Occasional trips to town for supplies, collection of goods, attendance at activities i.e swimming lessons 

  • Experience with horses would be a beneficial as the girls are keen led riders
