Established in 1998, Swiss Australian Farm Holding (SAFH) has been involved in Australian agriculture for over twenty years with sheep and cattle properties across SA, NSW and QLD.

 

We are seeking an experienced working Manager for Glenstrae Station located in South Australia’s Upper Southeast district, approximately 50km southwest of Keith and 3 hours from Adelaide. Glenstrae is a well-resourced, large-scale grazing property currently running approximately 16,500 merino sheep across 6,877ha of picturesque, undulating, and warm grazing country.

Start Date: Immediate

Remuneration: Negotiable based on experience

 

Job Description: The Manager must be experienced in all aspects of sheep and wool production and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the property including: 

• Stock husbandry and animal welfare  Implementing the property’s operational and strategic plans  Pasture management and improvement 

• Staff management and contractor supervision 

• Record keeping, reporting, and working to budget 

• General property repairs and maintenance including plant/machinery, waters, buildings fencing/yards etc

• Reporting to the General Manager, you will have hands-on involvement in the planning and future strategy of the property.

Criteria:

• Applicants must be organised, reliable and motivated and able to demonstrate strong communication, planning and leadership skills.

• Excellent record keeping and sound computer literacy skills are required.

• Ideally the successful applicant will have a current chemical certificate, first aid certificate and a current firearms license, or the ability to get these.
