Smithfield Cattle Company is based in Southern Queensland operating two feedlots, along with grazing and farming operations. We are currently seeking Livestock Hands at both our properties and a Farm Hand at Sapphire:

LIVESTOCK HANDS are required at our Smithfield feedlot near the small township of Proston, QLD and our Sapphire property 32km from Goondiwindi, QLD.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Animal health management

• Livestock handling – inducting, drafting, and cattle dispatch

• Quality assurance and accurate record keeping

• Contributing to other areas of the feedlot as required

 

Essential Requirements:

• Low stress stock handling techniques

• An understanding of animal health and welfare

• Strong horsemanship skills and own horses that are suitable for feedlot work

• Effective teamwork skills

• Current drivers’ licence

• Willingness to work a 10:4 roster​
