STATION HAND 

STURT PLAINS STATION, NT

Sturt Plains Station is a family operated cattle station, covering approximately 100,00 hectares of magnificent country, it is located 340kms south of Katherine, in the NT.

We are seeking a Station Hand to join our team for the 2022 season.

Job Type: full Time:

• We have a 6 day work week (7 days when busy) with a 3 month probationary period.

• We run a High grade Brahman herd only using horses to muster.

Job Description: We are looking for a Station hand who wants to be part of our team and has a genuine interest in the cattle industry. We also run a Spelling/Dipping facility. 

Essential Requirements:

• We require someone who can ride a horse confidently and has experience mustering cattle on horseback.

• Physically fit, able to be part of a team and enjoy cattle.

• Good communication

• Organised and able to work unsupervised

• High standard of safety for yourself and others, working in a remote area.

Duties may/ will include:​

• Mustering on horseback and yard work

• Lick runs

• Fencing

• Helping with spelling and dipping facility, will require physical work.

​

Preferred Requirements:

• Some mechanical knowledge would be beneficial

• Stock work experience preferred

• Manual Drivers Licence
