Weemabah Pty Ltd is an expanding family owned business operating 2 cattle grazing properties between Hungerford and Thargomindah in South West Qld. A position has become available for an outstation overseer on a property 50km South of Thargomindah.

Job Type: It is a full-time position with the option to offer work to the successful applicants partner. There are also job opportunities for the applicants partner in Thargomindah.

Start: Immediate

Job Description: The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day running of this property under the direction of the station manager. The station manager is based on “Moombidary”, approximately 60km from this 2nd property. As such, the successful applicant must be able to fit into a team but also needs to be able to work independently. 

​

Reporting to the Station Manager, your key duties will include but not be limited to:

• Monitoring and upkeep of bores and watering points

• Mustering, handling & monitoring of cattle

• Use & maintenance of motorbikes for mustering

• General maintenance & repairs (fencing & welding)

• Operate machinery as required

• Helping with station infrastructure development (fencing, poly lines)

 

The successful applicant must:

• Have experience in the cattle industry, with exceptional cattle handling skills

• Have the experience and initiative to manage the day to day running of the property

• Have the ability to carry out property maintenance

• Be familiar with the operation and maintenance of bores and watering systems.
