Ingomar Station

Ingomar Pastoral Company is seeking an experienced, long term Station Overseer for Ingomar Station, located 70 km south of Coober Pedy, South Australia. We are a progressive farming enterprise with a focus on continuing to expand and improve the station through efficient operations and infrastructure.


Ingomar Station is 4094 km² with approximately 10,000 Merino sheep and 2,000 Hereford and Angus cattle.  


The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • management and care of livestock;

  • management of Ingomar Station in the absence of Station Manager from time to time;

  • assisting with management, improvements, maintenance and general upkeep of the property;

  • management and mentoring of other employees / contractors under direction of the Station Manager;

  • management and maintenance of water supplies, bores, fences, plant and equipment; and

  • monitoring of various mining company activities in and around the station.

You will possess the following:

  • extensive pastoral industry experience;

  • although not a prerequisite, previous management experience is desirable;

  • strong work ethic; 

  • livestock management and handling skills;

  • ability to be adaptable and able to change plans at short notice;

  • previous experience with Poly and PVC pipelines linked to submersible solar and mechanical pumps;

  • organisational and communication skills;

  • understanding and implementation of WH&S requirements;

  • above all else, you must be reliable and trustworthy with a can-do positive attitude.
